Do you know how to saw? Like...really know how to saw? OK, then, this one's for you!

Students with a mastery of basic jewelry skills will be challenged to create wearable containers, employing the fabrication techniques of slots and tabs, die forming and soldering. Design modes from conceptual, abstract to figurative and narrative will be entertained.

Thomas Mann has explored the concepts of containment throughout his career through jewelry and sculpture and brings this wealth of information and experience to inspire and instruct his students.

You'll make some fabulous wearable container neckpieces that investigate "containment" using plastics, wood, metals and whatever else speaks to you. The images shown above represent possible ideas and do not indicate an actual finished project.
