Combine the best of both worlds in jewelry making. Learn metalsmithing techniques including sawing, doming, soldering, and polishing and then adding line decorations using metal clay syringe clay. It's very easy to create custom wire looking designs using metal clay syringe instead of trying to fit and solder wires into place as you would do in metalsmithing. In this class learn how to use a jeweler's saw, understand how to choose the correct saw size, the difference in cheap saws and the more expensive ones, learn a custom way of doming shapes using wood, how to use metal clay syringe, and then use a torch joining silver metal sheet and metal clay together. Finish the earrings by learning how to solder posts onto the back of the earrings and polishing techniques. Kit/Materials Fee (payable to instructor at class time):
