She comes out at night to rule the dark, our Moth Queen, floating gracefully on wings of aged cotton and wire. Her wooden body shimmers with layers of rust and iridescent mica powder. Her arms, head and crown are created from Paper Clay, an air-dried non-toxic modeling material that, when dry, is sanded and painted. Her glass glitter crown catches the moon light. Her body is composed of an intricately wire wrapped cage filled with wool roving. Laces, cloth and other materials add even more detail. She will never be burned by an attraction to others light as she is the Queen and in her wisdom she carries her own hand-blown glass orb filled with glow-in-the-dark glitter.
