Build a unique cage like bezel form to encase a druzy stone using an open form technique created from forged wire. The overall look allows you to view all sides of your object that you are encasing. Students will finish one pendant in the morning and the afternoon will provide an opportunity to expand on this idea by forging and brazing a wire neck form. In this 6 hour smithing class learn to anneal, solder, pick solder, shape, draw a bead and all skills to create cage-like jewelry. Learn proper metalworking techniques for soldering, shaping and clean up. Learn some short cuts and ideal techniques for teaching soldering in a class room. Students will leave with a complete neck form and pendant. Kit/Materials Fee (payable to instructor at class time):
