Using gelli plates provided, so you don't have to buy or bring your own, we will begin the day making gorgeous gelli prints on papers normally headed for the recycling bin, including envelopes, cards, mailers, flyers, miscellaneous papers for pages, etc... (If you prefer not to use recycled papers, you may bring your own choice of paper.) We will explore using a gelli plate both as a stamp and to lift prints, along with recycled household items that normally land in the trash along with store bought stencils and standard mark making tools.

Paints, gel mediums, sprays and gesso will be used for these colorful prints. We will print enough papers to construct a journal. Later in the day, we will bind them into a heavy duty gelli printed cover using a simple hand stitch, as shown in the photos. There will also be an option to add flair with hand stamped images. Whether you are new to gel printing or have some experience, this will be an experience full of fun and learning, and you can expect to go home with a completed project!

Instructor Provided (for use in-class, and to share):

• stencils
• a plethora of miscellaneous mark making tools
• class handout

Student should bring:

• scissors for paper
• baby/hand wipes or washcloth and small container of water
• favorite adhesive
• apron OR paint loving clothes
• Optional: If you have a heat tool and/or bookbinding awl, please bring it along, so you do not have to wait to share the class set of tools.
• If you prefer not to use the provided recycled papers, please bring 12 - 24 sheets of medium to heavy weight cardstock, or bristol in 6" x 12" sheets.
• If you have some special rubber stamps or other embellishments you would like to use as your images, you may bring those as well, but there will be items in the kits if you do not.
• 1 or 2 sheets of white medium or heavy duty card stock for stamped images, if desired
• black stamp pad for students who wish to stamp images
• small set of inexpensive watercolor paints and small tipped brush or markers to color images, if desired.
