Learn several mixed media techniques from my book, Acrylic techniques in Mixed Media to create dynamic beautiful sheets of paper that can be used for a variety of projects. You will paint on heavy weight drawing paper, black and white copies, magazine pages and various paper surfaces. Learn basic principles of color mixing, tints and shades, and creating individual color palettes. While playing and experimenting you will learn how to layer with several techniques including drawing and mark-making, collage, painting, stenciling, stamping, paste paper, print-making, collagraphs, mono-printing and gelli-plates. Using ready available materials you will also learn how to create your own painting and printing tools, such as stamps, stencils, printing plates and combs for paste paper. I will be bringing plenty of painting tools, stamps, stencils and gadgets for you to play with in class.
