Do you want to learn to use a calligraphy pen with watercolors and basic letters too? Monoline letters are done with a round pen nib and make an even line with rounded ends and are the normal starting point in traditional calligraphy. You would use this pen nib to learn the basic alphabet, Roman Gothic. Then you would write the alphabet to practice hundreds of times.

Instead of doing it that way, we are going to have playtime with this versatile nib, one of the few used by both right and left-handed calligraphers.

I have learned monoline Romans from many people for many years and bring that experience to this class. For those of you who have tried basic lettering and get bored by the "practice", this class is for you. We will copy letters, hieroglyphics, symbolic languages and even make simple drawings with our monoline pens using two "off primary" color sets, one bright and one neutral.

You will learn the basics of using a pen holder and nib, how to mix watercolors and use them with a nib, how to write Roman letters and how to embellish them with symbols and shapes from all over the world.
