Steve Salik is a Phoenix-based multi-media artist and visual journaler. His work emphasizes bookbinding and he creates journals from wood, polymer clay and metal and features a variety of themes ranging from the simple beauty of the wood to alien creatures. He uses bookbinding to explore states of mind and often creates small books because of the intimacy small objects can create. His work has been featured in collaborative shows throughout the Phoenix area including Mini-Mini and Six of One. Steve has an eclectic visual journaling style and uses his journaling to explore a variety of themes, techniques and media.
