Karen Elaine is an artist, author and paper craft designer also known as Karen Elaine Thomas. She is most well known for her unique and distinctively creative approach to traditional origami and paper craft techniques and her work has been featured on many television shows, DVDs and publications. She is the author of Origami Card Craft published by Random House as well as several other paper crafting books. Her vibrant water media paintings have been exhibited in galleries and festivals nationally and are in many private and corporate collections.

Karen is involved in developing creative products from concept to market for Yasutomo and Company, her employer since 1997. In addition to being involved in product development, she teaches creative workshops at trade shows, events and retail stores.

Karen is the creator of Splash Ink™, a color mixing system where hundreds of colors can be made only using four basic colors and Kumomi™, a colorful meditative art technique which combines spontaneous painting with mindful drawing to invoke a sense of mental, physical and emotional well being.
