Photo Resurrection: The Art of Altered Photographs
Date: Friday, August 27, 2004
Time: 9am – 4:30pm
Instructor: Karen Michel
Cost: $110
Using regular 35mm photos (come on, I know you have boxes of these things & don't know what to do with them!) and common household materials, learn to “alter” the photos themselves to give them that aged, transferred look & turn them into works of art.
A small “altered Photo book” will be constructed during the second half of class to house our little works of art.
A Book Kit fee of $5 is payable to instructor at class time. Supply List :
20 or more 35mm color photos (any size) obscure landsapes, images of people, blurry or out of focus (don't worry about it being a “good” photo)
Water based markers – Marvy Markers are best (brush tip)
Watercolor crayons and/or water soluble oil pastels (Portfolio by Crayola are best – you can find them on the art aisle at Staples or Office Max)
acrylic gel medium (matte or semi-gloss) – I like to use Golden soft gel matte
other suggested materials (not required, but if you have ‘em, bring ‘em)
colored inks
watercolors
India ink
eyelets
