Monoprint and Monotype Backgrounds Date: Saturday, August 23, 2003 Time: 9am - 4pm Instructor: Leslie Parsons Cost: $90 You already know that a good background is the basis for a great piece of art. Whether it's added to an altered book or lays the groundwork for a collage, the background is, in many ways, the most important part of your artwork. In this class, we will learn a gaggle of monoprinting and monotyping techniques and then create a plethora of great backgrounds. Just a sampling of these techniques include watercolor monoprints, glass plate and double glass plate printing, chin colle, making and using print blocks and monotype "remarks", plus several others. You will come away with a simple accordion book filled with different and unique backgrounds which will be your reference book from the class. Each background will be accompanied by a write up explaining the method, lest you forget. Please bring a basic stamping kit (scissors, Xacto knife and cutting surface, adhesive of some type (glue stick or your preference), black dye ink pad, brayer, black micron pen and pencil) and all else will be supplied. © 2003, ART Unraveled.
