The book every creative person needs to store their magical formulas & recipes for creativity and sources of inspiration. Consider it a proper home for all your notes, learned techniques and discoveries.
In this class we will construct a book out of lightweight wood, using a basic binding for the spine, and embellish the cover with metal, fabric & more!
This class is open to artists of all levels.
There will be an $8 Book Kit fee payable to instructor at class time which will include: wood covers & spine,
various papers for the signatures,
waxed linen / needle,
fabric for the binding,
metal for the covers and stain.
(books will measure 11 ¾" x 5 ½" on completion).
Supply List: Stylus ( a ball point pen will also work just as well), Small jar of gel medium, medium sized paintbrush (1/2" to 1"), 1/8" eyelets (shape & color are up to you- these will be used on the spine to finish the signature holes), A Charm to hang from the inner bookmark, if you have specific fabric you would like to use for the binding, please feel free to bring it along. if you have specific imagery you would like to use for your cover, please feel free to bring it along. Japanese Screw Punch (I'll be bringing mine, so if you do not have one, don't worry!), Embellishments for the cover (for example, metal label holders, charms, beads, wire, etc)
