Price: This Workshop Filled

Mickie McCormic

" IMAGE TRANSFER TECHNIQUES " is a six-hour process workshop , an overview of techniques for transferring photographic images for use in art work. Participants will do five techniques hands-on, as well as learning about other methods through demonstrations, and taking home a course manual and samples of each of the techniques that are not done hands-on in class. We will discuss which techniques are best for which purpose and surface, and we will work on paper and fabric. Some of the mediums covered are heat tools, solvents, adhesives, and decals. Methods will be covered for transfers onto fabric that will be washed, like quilts or clothing, as well as for artwork that will be framed. We will also look at other methods of using photographic images: light-sensitive dyes (including cyanotypes) on fabric, and Solarplate production and printing. This workshop will give participants the knowledge they need to get started with photo transfers or other alternative photo processes.

$10 materials fee payable to instructor at class time for : Commercial water-slide decal (Lazertran) and t-shirt transfer materials; images for transferring, copied on toner-based copiers and printers; transparency material; adhesives, solvents, and laminating material, and tools: inkjet printers, a Xyron machine, and heat transfer tools.

Supply list : A pair of scissors and a roll of paper towels.
