Elizabeth Howard

Elizabeth Howard After graduating with a BFA, major in American Studies, from Grinnell College, I returned to school to cultivate the creative side of myself and found I was drawn to model making. I also became enthralled with the art and entire process of hand book binding. I was accepted into the MFA Program in Book Arts at U of Alabama and found myself drawn to containers as much as the books they housed.

I established Mussaku, a private press specializing in items for the gift industry, wedding and baby albums, hand made journals and guest books. I teach book binding workshops, will be teaching at Penland in May 2003 and have exhibited nationally. My work has been published in several books including Making Memory Books and Journals by Hand, Making and Keeping Creative Journals, Making Journals by Hand, Making Memory Books by Hand and in Somerset Studio magazine.
