Texture AND Metallics - how can you go wrong! We'll combine common household items such as cheesecloth and produce bags with acrylic mediums and color to make wonderful textures to be used in collages. Playing with some actual metals, creating simple patinas will be part of the class.

Top this texture with various metallic leafs and foils and you have the beginnings of a breathtaking collage. At the end of the day each student will put together a small, simple collage using the elements that you have made during the day. We'll talk a lot about design while you are building your collage, improving your skills for all of those future collages.

Supply List

• Xacto or similar knife with extra blades
• Scissors
• Cutting Mat
• Metal Ruler for Cutting
• Tacky Glue
• Popsicle sticks for applying glue
• 3/4"-1" wide brush for acrylics (an inexpensive one is fine)
• Water container (at least one quart)
• Acrylic Gloss Gel Medium-any brand , 8 oz. Or more. MUST be GLOSS GEL
• 6 pieces of 140 lb/ watercolor paper (can be hot or cold press, can even be an old painting that you want to paint over) - at least 8" x 10"
• Quilting iron or bunny burner if you have it ­ some will be available to share

• Coil bound hand out book with actual tipped-in samples (retails for $25)
• Metals
• Metal Foil
• Metal Leaf & Size
• Acrylic Paint (probably provided by Golden)
• Other Misc. Supplies ­ cheesecloth, tissue paper, molding paste and more
