In this class, you will be making a sweet whimsical fairy with a sculpted face, articulated fingers and shaped arms and legs. There will be some pre-class work which will eliminate the need for you to bring a sewing machine to class. A kit will be sent to you providing the doll skin fabric, pattern pieces and instructions for the ears, torso, arms and legs (torso and parts of the legs are fabrics of your choice). I will provide the pre-sewn head for you and also the wing kit. In class we will assemble the doll, lay in the face using Prisma color pencils and implant false eyelashes. Then we will dress her. We will embellish her using earrings, charms, and whatever treasures you bring. The doll wig, which is lambs wool in a variety of colors, will be available for you to purchase at class time for 6.00 or you can bring a doll wig. Finished doll is 12 inches high and ready to sit atop a stack of books or where ever you need a little magic. Skill Level: Should have some sewing skills.
Supply List: 1/4 yard of glittery stretch fabric for her top, 1/4 yard of gold netting for sleeves, 1/4 yard of a very sheer fabric for skirt, Brads (the four prong kind), Package of strung charms, beads, etc (these go around the ankles), Hot glue gun, Tacky glue (make sure it is the kind that dries clear), Pins, Scissors, Craft knife with new blade, Sculpting needle (these are long needles), Regular sharp sewing needles, Neutral color quilting thread, Two yards of gold embellishment fiber (this will be used to assemble the sleeves), Pack of false eyelashes (the kind that are separated), Powder blush and brush applicator, Earrings, large pair and 2 to 3 pairs of studs, Embellishments- sequins, rhinestones, charms, beads or whatever wonderful things you wish to add. Prisma color pencils: Sienna brown, Peach, Terra Cotta, Light flesh, Watercolor pencils (your favorite brand) White, Dark red, Bright green, Bright yellow, Fine point black liner pen, Can of Krylon Workable Fixative, Pencil sharpener.
