Elements and Objects in Jewelry

Challenge what is the commonly held notion of what is considered jewelry. Tastefully incorporate personal mementos and found objects in a game Piece theme to create a wearable work of art. Work with sterling silver sheet metal and piercing using Susan's signature windows. Learn layering of metal with joins using rivets, staples, hinges and an interesting array of simple heated joins. Create a very unusual and personal jewelry on a large or small scale as you work through ideas and learn new techniques.

There is a kit fee of $6.00 payable to the instructor at class time which includes 16 gauge wire, brass and copper sheet metal.  

Supply List:  

Essential Tools- tin snips, wire snips, jewelers saw, (bench pin), needle nose and chain nose pliers, small hammer, wire.  

Optional:   anvil, dremel tool, hardware large and small, game pieces, small objects, photos, text, etc.
