Jane LaFazio is a mixed media artist who works in paper and cloth. She has been a practicing artist since 1993, and in the last 7 years has begun teaching art quilts, watercolor journaling to adults and art to elementary school kids. Her artwork has been featured in galleries, juried mixed media exhibitions and publications including the books “Material Visions: A Gallery of Miniature Art Quilts, ”“ Fabric Art Gallery ,”“Beginner’s Guide to Art Quilt,” “101 ways to tees your tots” and magazines “Quilting Arts,” and “Cloth, Paper, Scissors.” One of Jane’s illustrated sketchbook pages was the cover of “Cloth Paper Scissor” March/April 2007 issue, with an article inside the issue on Jane’s sketching and painting process. Jane's quilt making DVD was released in late 2007 and she is very proud to have a dozen of her sketches featured in Danny Gregory’s upcoming book “An Illustrated Life: Drawing inspiration from the private sketchbooks of artists, illustrators and designers.” to be published Fall 2008. Jane recently was awarded a grant to create a year-long program, funded by The Kenneth A. Picerne Foundation.
