This class will explore the process of altering regular 35mm photographs and then creating a photo "quilt" sewn together via eyelets and wires. This work of art can tell the story of adventures past, express the love of family, or tell your own personal story. The final piece will be ready to be mounted on the wall.
Supply List:
1. 20 or more 35mm color photos (any size)* obscure landscapes, images of people, blurry or out of focus (don't worry about it necessarily a "good" photo)
2. Water based markers (I like Marvy Brush Tip Markers best)
3. Acrylic gel medium- matte or semigloss (I like to use Golden's Soft Gel Medium in Matte)
5. Eyelets & Eyelet setter- size, shape & colors are up to you.
6. 26 gauge wire (silver, copper, or colored- the choice is yours)
7. 1 Pair of wire snips & 1 small pair of pliers
6. Small collage materials- text, images, poetry, etc. of your choice
6. Other suggested materials (if you have them- they're not required)
- Colored inks
- stamp pads & ink pad
- objects to integrate into the overall design of the work
