Type of Workshop: Process and Project
In this workshop we will create a fun and whimsical painting that will release and reconnect with your inner child. We will explore several techniques and tricks. In the class we will create amazing depth and beautiful dimension with layers of paint, collage, fabric, found objects, beads, words, gel and more. Later we will hand sew directly on the 12”x12” piece of canvas and add found objects with wire and thread.
In a fun and relaxing atmosphere, we will use anything and everything that speaks to you and will end up with a fun piece that speaks and reveals the child within you.

Golden Acrylic Gel Medium gloss or matte Medium
Golden Acrylic Paints – Must have Quinacridone/Nickel Azo Gold and Green Gold
1 or 2 - 12" x 12" Pre-stretched, primed cotton or linen canvas. Student grade would be ok. 1 1/2" would be nice but 3/4" would be fine.
Palette or painting knife to apply the gel medium
At least three flat brushes – the thinnest no less than ½”
1 conté pencil or pastel the color of your preference but dark
Glue Gun
X-acto blade
Masking tape and/or scotch tape
Items to embellish of your preference, i.e. small beads, wire, small pieces of fabric, Gauze, hemp cord, etc.
Small pieces of papers of different textures
