Tats/Graff/Freestyle Modern Letters for All Occasions
Thursday $130Lisa Engelbrecht 9:00 - 4:30Student Level: Everyone!
Type of Workshop: Process although we’ll create a nifty sample book
It’s really pretty easy to copy these styles of lettering. Street and tattoo influences have given regular calligraphy a new exciting twist. We start with Black Letter (or Old English or Gothic) which is simple with Parallel Pens. Then, some blocky, dense graff letters with shading-they make great page titles. The artist will also learn a scripty style with plenty of flourishes and freestyle letters modeled after truly funky graffiti artists. With new pens, colored pencils and some flash and glitz these letters will reflect the unique style of the artist - no strict rules or regulations here! In fact creativity and inventiveness will be encouraged, variations on letters used as a jumping off point. Your packet will include lots of handouts to further inspire even more lettering after Art Unraveled. A nifty simple sample book will be bound together in the end of all your new discoveries. Beginners and experienced welcome! This is definitely not your grandma’s calligraphy!
