Soldering Demystified
Wednesday $130 9:00 - 4:30Student Level: Beginning thorugh Advanced
Type of Workshop: Process
Soldering, endless incredible opportunities to capture your ephemeral, your sweetest smallest collage and honor it between bevels of glass. Together, step by step, we will demystify every aspect of soldering. Safety, the care and feeding of a soldering iron, what soldering materials to use and when. All aspects of the soldering process will be covered in depth. With a real understanding of the chemistry and nuances of these tools and materials you will be able to create charms, three dimensional objects of desire and take the mystery and misery out of all your soldering concerns. This is a technique driven class. For the sheer joy of learning we will solder two 2 X 4” bevels of glass and fashion it into a fan pull. Teacher will demonstrate painting on glass, incorporating materials within to create a layered hologram look, and hanging techniques.
