Student Level: All levels
Type of Workshop: Process and Project

Watch it wiggle, see it giggle—learn the magical technique of gelatin printing. Learn exciting new ways to make textures, layered prints and printed items. We'll work with tools from the kitchen, studio, workshop and junk drawer to ink and texture our printing plates made of unflavored gelatin. We'll use library pockets as practical practice paper and then start printing on fine art papers. Each piece will use a paper resist for the main silhouette while the background and subsequent layers create magic. We'll cut up our creations and create depth through texture and text. Each piece will tell its own story. The possibilities are endless and the workshop is set up so that we can all learn and discover together. You'll leave with many completed pockets, a series of silhouette prints and an expanded knowledge of gelatin printing know-how!
