In this workshop we will explore the relationship between clay, ink, canvas, gesso & found objects.

The first part of the class will be spent forming the clay around the canvas & creating multiple textures on the surface. You will learn about composition, object placement, working with clay & a variety of ways to create interesting texture.

After allowing the canvases to dry at lunch, the next part of the class will be spent applying color & adding the finishing touches to your work. You will leave with at least 2 (3 if you work fast) gorgeous pieces of original art & a variety of new techniques, tips & tricks to add to your work.

Kit Fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
Clay
Small found objects 
Face molds for everyone to use
Inks
Stamps

Supply List:
-2 canvases 8x8 or smaller (please bring 3 if you tend to work fast) a good source: cheapjoes.com
-2 bottles of Adirondack reinkers dye ink (please read the label carefully, this is NOT alcohol ink) source: rangerink.com or your local stamp store
-4 oz PVA glue, available at hollanders.com or your local stamp store
-A variety of small found objects
-Heat gun if you have one
-1 or 2 round brushes at least 1/2 inch thick 
-1 or 2 bold design texture stamps (script, patterns, or hand carved stamps all work well, just nothing intricate as we will be stamping into the clay with these.)

Please Read – If you contact me prior to June 1 st, I will place an order for canvases and have them shipped to the hotel. You will need to pay for them at the time of your order and you must contact me by June 1 st.
