This is a 9 hour workshop taught on Sunday evening and Monday.

In this 1 1/2 day class students will learn to make a unique, fine straw, vintage-style hat using easy “outsider” millinery techniques (that is, non-traditional) using their own heads as hat blocks and creating shape and style through pleating, folding and hand/machine sewing techniques.  Flower ribbonry for trimming the hats will also be taught. The first half day students will choose from a selection of tinted hat bodies and from there will learn to hand dye silk ribbons, fabrics, and a silk scarf to use as trim for their hats.
