You have stood in the scrap booking isles fingering those small collections of microscope slides wishing for so much more than thin rectangles and weightless little squares. What if YOU could cut glass, thick opulent textured, even colored glass into any shape your heart desires? What if you could drill holes in glass and fashion covers for art journals? Create charms in any shape?  If you want to break out of the "box" and incorporate glass into your art work in a skies the limit approach this technique driven workshop is just for you.

Dedicated to honing your glass know how, we will cut, shape, grind, drill and bevel our way through a plethora of beautiful glass!  Straight cuts, curvy cuts, squares, diamonds, circles, ovals and more.

We will cover safety, techniques, proper use, care and maintenance of your glass tools. What tool to use and when, everything you need to know to ENJOY and MASTER glass cutting, drilling, decorative edge treatments and simple beveling.  We will cover hand tools, grinders, drill bits, and glass saws. This class is completely technique driven. You will leave with the knowledge and ability to transform glass into desirable shapes using the most reliable tools available on the market today. You will have a chance to use glass cutting hand tools, grinders, a Gemini  III glass cutting saw, and glass drills. The focus of this class is how to cut and shape different types of glass. All the shapes you create in class are yours for the taking.

 This is a hands-on workshop.  Closed toed shoes and safety glasses required.

Kit fee of $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
An assortment of stained and clear glass to practice with
Small jar of cutting oil
German glass marking pen

Supplies provided by Instructor:
A plethora of glass to experiment and master
Container with cutting oil for student to keep
Glass cleaner
Glass pens
Cutting surface for each student
Detailed hand outs for future reference
Teacher will provide various types of glass, glass marking pens, glass cleaner, bottles, cutting oil, and various stations ready to go!

Safety Glasses – a must
Toyo glass cutter
Running pliers
Breakers
Graphic lay out ruler (this is a transparent ruler with a red grid often sold in graphic art supplies, quilting stores, and office supplies, which you will quickly fall in love with)
