This delightfully fun class with teach you how to bring metal to the melting point to create a wonderful texture on the surface of the silver. This process is also used to fuse various shapes and sizes of sterling sheet and wire to your base piece as well as creating interesting line and dimension along the edges. Overheating our silver will take on a whole new meaning with this class! Additional techniques covered include creating various textures and designs using hammers and stamps, as well as a cool way of adding color!

Kit Fee of $9 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
Fuel
Flux
Fusing supplies such as solder, casting grains, etc.
Sterling silver wire to twist

Supplies provided by Instructor for student’s use include:
All fusing materials
Bricks
Various texture hammers
Metal stamps
Wire twisters
Metal hole punches
Metal files
Pickle
A variety of other materials and tools to enhance the class experience

Supply List:
1 ½” x 8” piece of 24 gauge sterling silver sheet
Approx. 1 foot of sterling silver wire in several gauges ranging from 16 to 20 gauge
Ball peen hammer
Riveting hammer
Anvil and pillow
Metal cutting shears or scissors
Flush cut wire cutters
Round nose pliers
Rawhide hammer
Cross locking tweezers
Ruler
Fine tip permanent marker
Prisma colored pencils - 3 to 4 colors
Old tee-shirt for a rag|
Metal Files

Optional:
Wire twister
Metal stamps or textured hammers
Hole making pliers or similar tool
