  Ruth Rae 9:00 - 4:30

Student Level: All
Type of Workshop: Project

Work intuitively and become lost in combining layers of altered fabric and lace, embedding many hidden elements along the way; buttons, sea shells, fibers, broken bits of old jewelry, velvet leaves, seed pods, twigs, and rusted bits found on walks will be trapped and sewn under layers of organza or cheesecloth. Create an enticing texture-filled piece with hidden fragments and meaning. In this workshop we will explore:

Fabric and paper altering: dying, stamping, machine quilting and hand sewing. We will work on the design princip le s of creating in multipl es . We will also cover how you can easily turn your square into a fabulous gift cone!
