Beautiful and functional is a great way to describe the project that you will complete in the class. We will put your jewelry making and craft skills to maximum use while constructing this utilitarian letter opener. Etch, saw, rivet, solder and polish to produce an exquisite object d’art you will use and be proud to show.

A Materials Fee of $3 payable to Instructor at class time includes all materials needed:
Copper Tubing
Etching solution
Faux Bone
Copper chain
Silver solder and flux
Liver of Sulphur

Tool List:
Rubber stamps
Flat and round nose pliers
Metal shears or tin snips
Wire cutters (inexpensive hardware store variety, not your best flush cutters)
Files
Fine sandpaper
Sanding block or Scotch-brite type pad for cleaning and polishing
Bench Pin
Jeweler’s saw and #2 blades

Optional:
Butane Torch (traveling by air with torches can be unpredictable so I will have a few on hand to share…bring one if you can)
