This is a project oriented class but along the way you will learn several techniques and processes that you will be able to apply to your own projects. You will create a bracelet made from copper panels covered with torch-fired enamel. We will explore sifted and liquid enamels including sgrafitto techniques. You will have your choice of making a linked bracelet using jump rings or a hinged bracelet (a more advanced and challenging project). Either way, you will finish off with a hand made toggle clasp. You will leave the class with a finished jewelry project you’ll be proud to wear or give as a gift. Some soldering experience is recommended for this class, but is not essential

Materials fee of $3 payable to Instructor at class time includes all materials necessary for the project.

Tool List:
Round nose and flat nose pliers
Metal shears or tin snips suitable for cutting 24 gauge sheet metal
Wire cutters – flush cutters preferred but not essential
Tweezers
Small hammer
Soldering pad or firebrick for soldering on
Small inexpensive brush for applying flux
Files
Fine sandpaper
Sanding block or Scotch-brite type pad for cleaning and polishing
Jeweler’s saw and blades (#0 or #2/0)
Bench Pin
Bench Block

Optional : (I will have a few of each to share, but if you can bring one, all the better)
Butane Torch (traveling by air with torches can be unpredictable…bring one if you can)
Tube cutting jig
Dremel or similar rotary tool
