If you haven’t tried Golden Product’s new line of Open Acrylics (24 hour drying period), now’s your chance! They are very similar to oil paints, but dry much faster, with the same painterly look once complete, and guess what, no odor! Don’t let the word “paint” intimidate you. Anyone can learn to paint and once you do, you’ll truly enjoy the process. In this project driven class, you will finish a face painted onto a floor cloth material. You will be able to glue or sew your floor cloth face into your journals, onto a piece of clothing, or use them as a background for a larger canvas art piece. You will learn how to mix colors to make flesh, shading the face, making facial expressions, how to produce proper eye placement, and much, much more. We will examine layering of paints, instruction on how to observe highlights and shadows on the face and the use of a wet on wet palette application. I’ll bring along your floor cloth canvas pieces and we’ll spend several hours learning to draw a face onto this flexible material. I’ll teach you proven techniques that have worked my entire life. These open acrylics are wonderful, especially the ease of drying time and their look of authentic oils. I’ll teach you that anyone can paint, and you will!

Supply List:
-Brushes of varied sizes and shapes, particularly #1 & #2 round, #3 flat plus varied acrylic paint sizes you may already own.
-Water carrier
-Palette knife to mix your paints, metal or plastic
