Learn wire working basics and more while creating this personal talisman. Using three essential tools you’ll form links, rings, spirals, hooks, wire beads, coils, and cages. Experiment with stamping tools provided in class to create expressive charms, and learn how to antique your piece to achieve a rich, aged patina. Students will probably not complete a necklace in class, but will go home with the necessary skills and instructions to finish.

Optional Kit Fee payable to Instructor at class time (or you may provide your own, see below): $70 includes all sterling silver wire and sheet silver for necklace, students must provide beads.

If not purchasing kit, students must also bring –

2 feet of 14 gauge “dead soft” sterling silver wire or copper
8 feet of 16 gauge “dead soft” sterling silver wire or copper
8 feet of 18 gauge “dead soft” sterling silver wire or copper
4 feet of 20 gauge “dead soft” sterling silver wire or copper
4 feet of 22 gauge “dead soft” sterling silver wire or copper
8 feet of 24 gauge “dead soft” sterling silver wire or copper
Small piece of 28 gauge silver sheet or copper sheet (1”X2” or larger)

Supply List: All students must bring –
An assortment of beads, (mostly with large holes), charms, coins, buttons, treasures, etc.
Round nose pliers
Chain nose pliers
Flat nose pliers or second pair of chain nose
Flush wire cutters
Chasing Hammer and bench block or anvil (optional)
Jeweler’s files (optional)
Beading pad to hold your beads (optional)
Ruler
