This class was highly requested when folks saw the journal I had for sale.  Richly carved covers with images and words evoke the soul in this workshop.   The binding style is a unique combination of Secret Belgium binding and over cord binding, yielding a delightful book that opens flat.   Earth tone papers make up the text pages and add to the overall charm of this journal.  You will carve the book boards for your covers and cover them with paper you will embellish with metallic pigments.  You will bind the boards together to make the complete cover.  The pages are sewn in to complete the journal. 

Kit Fee of $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
Three pieces of book board
Cover paper
Text paper
A needle
A handout

Instructor will provide:
Many colors of Rub-n-Buf
A variety of colors waxed linen thread
PVA adhesive
At least one drill

Supply List :
X-acto knife and spare blades
An awl and cushion (like a mouse pad)
Glue brush
Pencil
Ruler
Scissors
I will be providing a copy of my original design but you may wish to use a short phrase of your own (no more than 12 words) and images no larger than 4½”- 5” high by 3½”-4” wide
