Type of Workshop: Project... with lots of process ideas explored.

 

This workshop will help you explore new ideas in fabric painting and printing. Each mini art quilt will be made from fabric that is produced in class, with touches of commercial embellishments and hand- embroidered finishing.

The quilt pictured has a measurement of 9" x 7". This size can be made, or you can make two 4" x 5” postcard-size quilts.

If you have never made an art quilt, or have tried without success, join in the fun with this workshop! Learn how easy a unique piece of art can be made with some tried and true basic ideas. The process of creating your own fabric adds a one-of-a-kind touch. The photo transfer process will be discussed in class; you will have the option to experiment and create your own transfer if you have never done this before. If you want to create your photo transfers in class, please bring TONER COLOR copies of your photos.

Kit fee of $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
Materials necessary to produce one large or two small quilts

Fabrics
Paints
Inks
Stamps
Mark-making tools
Needles

Felt backing

Two or three 1" foam brushes
Black staz-on ink pad
Important! Bring a few selections of your favorite photo transfers, not larger than 2" x 3".

Instructor will have various photo transfers available in class for a small fee (optional).
