I have a passion for creating mixed-media contemporary and abstract paintings by exploring and combining acrylic and water based materials with organic textures. The organic textures I like to use are: marble powder, sand, wood, seeds, coffee, fibers, and grains among others. The Urbanic (short for Urban-Organic) Mixed-Media style is about incorporating health and environmentally friendly acrylic and/or water based materials with organic items. The Urbanic concept is about creating art that inspires creativity and expression in our everyday life style with its patterns, textures, light and colors (like nature). It is about recycling and reinventing ideas to create art that helps us connect more with our-selves, nature and other people; therefore by bringing a more organic feeling into our busy urban life style.

Join me in this unique and adventurous workshop in which you get to learn first, how to access and explore your creativity and self-expression; second, you get to learn about the process of selecting, applying, and preserving acrylic, water based and organic materials for more professional and archival purposes; and third, you get to apply your creativity and the technique process to create a unique-original piece of Fine Art while having lots of fun! You will also learn about the relationship and interactive conversations between the art materials selected, the creative & technique processes, and your-self.

2- empty 2oz fine mist sprayer bottle: plastic sprayer activated by pressing the cap (for cosmetic uses).
8oz acrylic medium gac 200-golden brand
3-11”x14” canvas panels
A foldable table easel
Old towel
Scissors
Pencil
Eraser
Pencil sharpener
Fine point sharpie
Writing pen
8.5x11 size sketch pad
Pictures, magazines cut outs, images you like and that make you feel special
Acrylic paint brushes set: made with synthetic/nylon bristles preferably
Acrylic paints in colors of your choice. Bring your favorite colors and/or the basic colors: primary red, primary blue, primary yellow, black, white, (green & brown)
A color wheel
An acrylic paint palette with a cover preferably
8 oz bottle of all purpose Elmers glue
2-palette knives/spatulas small size for color mixing and texture application
