Bring your journals to class; we’re going to prepare pages, explore letterforms, paint and collage as we discuss the beauty of the handmade life and what it means to explore the inner world through our writing and image making. There will be a series of paint exercises and then we will add collage, monoprint and intuitive design elements. Finally in the afternoon we will explore alphabets and do some writing exercises designed to re-connect you to your deepest passion and purpose. This is a class for anyone who loves their journal and wants to learn how to go deeper into finding their unique artistic voice and subject matter.  

Kit Fee of $10 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
Spiral bound class booklet
Packets of papers
Collage sheets
Lettering style sheets
Writing prompt sheets  

Supplies provided by Instructor for student’s use in class include:
Sumi ink
Waxed paper

Various tools to use and return including:
Gel medium
Pens
Water soluble crayons
Stencils
Stamps
Stamp pads
Sponges  

Supply List:
Bring your journal or large sturdy notebook (mine is 8x10”)
Acrylic paint (cheap bottles of craft paint are fine)
Brushes - several sizes & cheap ones are okay
Matte medium
Gesso
Uni-ball signo UM-153 white pen
Pencils
Your favorite pens or writing tools
Sandpaper
Scissors
Glue stick  

Optional Supplies:
Apron
Rubber stamps & stencils
Ink pads
Water soluble crayons
Collage materials & pretty papers
Dryer gun or hair dryer
