Mokume Gane to "Dye" For - WORKSHOP FILLED -

In this workshop you will play with a technique for Mokume Gane, combining translucent polymer clay with gorgeous inks and other products to produce intricate layers and patterns with luminescent qualities not achievable with solid-colored clay. The translucent clay yields depth to beads made from your Mokume Gane stack, and illuminates the underlying metallic layers. Once you do it, you’ll be hooked. Join us in this all day workshop as we get our hands messy making beads to “dye” for! Some of your beads will be wet-sanded and polished in class. Since this is a technique class, the focus will be on the processes involved and not necessarily on a project. You will leave with a rainbow of beautiful beads, to do with as you please. These will make outstanding focal beads for jewelry! Your kit includes metal spacer beads so if time permits, you may string together some of your beads to make a Chunky Nugget bracelet in class.

Supply List:
Several packages (4-5) Premo translucent polymer clay
Ugly scrap clay (non metallic) for bead cores (If you don’t have scrap clay, bring any non-metallic clay to make bead cores- except black)
Gold metal leaf in sheets (NOT foil)
Clay slicing blade
Pasta machine (highly recommended to bring your own)
