This brand new and original, no-sew binding not only lies flat when open, but the spine expands to accommodate the contents of the pages - which are envelopes. Many secrets can be tucked within the envelope pages and even into the 3/4" spaces in the spine.

We will learn the construction by completing a smaller version of the book in the morning. When I have taught this workshop, I have found that once students finish the first version, they are full of excitement and ideas of how they would make another one.

And so we will do just that - coming back in the afternoon to make and embellish a larger version.

Interesting texture printing techniques will be used to create the covers and/or decorate the pages, and an optional, indestructible slipcase can be made with coordinating fabric designs if so desired and time allows.

This workshop is a project AND technique workshop. This will be a favorite binding with many uses, and cover techniques can be used for many other types of artwork. Students will complete two versions of this book.

All necessary materials will be provided by instructor.

Metal Ruler
Bone Folder
Gel Pen (to make marks that will show on dark paper)
Double Stick Tape (1/2" or less in width)

Optional :
Stamps, markers etc for doing art on the pages when finished
