Paper and Fabric Family Portrait - Workshop Cancelled -
From my book, Collage Discovery Workshop: Beyond the Unexpected, we will create fabric and paper figures using canvas and photocopied images. You can use a photo of yourself, family, pets, friends or foe!
When finished these figures can be displayed on a mantle or a shelf as a funky 3-d family portrait.
Supply List:
- A couple of b&w photocopied images of heads, the head from chin to top of hair should be about 1 ¼” tall. You could use your own image, family members, pets, or use someone you don’t know, it’s up to you!
- 1/4 yard of unprimed canvas or various fabrics you would like to use – you can buy this at fabric stores or art supply stores. It can have a pattern if you like, but you might want to bring some plain canvas and I’ll show you how to stain it.
- embellishments: ribbon, beads, charms, yarns etc.
- fine tip black pen
- paint brush
- needle and thread
- glue
