Materials fee of $15.00 payable to instructor at class time for use of Water soluble oil paints, acrylic paints, spray fixative, glaze, pre-made painted papers, painting boards, tissue, handouts and more!

Have you ever wanted to paint what you were feeling but did not know where or how to start? .

Using color to express yourself powerfully, I will teach you a creative way to paint, with spontaneous expression, using your intuition and embracing your infinite potential as an artist.

Sensing what to paint is often so simple that we often disregard it. Using the exercises and techniques you will learn in this class, you will be able to make small paintings in an hour our less. We will create as many paintings as time allows. Techniques taught in this class are also applicable to journaling and collage.

Layering of colors to create interest
Mixing medias
Breaking the rules: using both acrylic and oil paints
Usage of tissue for texture and as a painting guide

Brief discussions on:
Art history of Expressionism and Fauvism
Getting along with your inner critic

Supply List:
Box of Portfolio Pastels
Soft or regular gel medium, semi gloss or matte (I prefer Golden brand, but any brand will do)
2 - 4 blending stumps
4 5"x7" stretched canvases
baby wipes
small, medium and large paint brushes
a few opaque markers - white, black and a color choice (Galaxy or Coptic brands preferred)
brayer
journal (optional)
