Dream Pillows - WORKSHOP FILLED -

Lisa Engelbrecht

In your heart, keep one still secret spot where dreams may go and sheltered so may thrive and Grow.” -Louise Driscoll

Never doubt the importance of your dreams! In this workshop the student will create a hand lettered pillow that will have secret hiding places and envelopes for her dreams. The student will be introduced to traditional and fun and funky styles of lettering on fabric-no previous calligraphy experience required! Wash techiques will be presented using permanent acrylic inks as a backdrop to our dream quotes and inspirational words. I will demonstrate all types of letters and lettering styles. These letters can be used also in your journals. I will provide the student with many exemplars of calligraphy for future reference.

We will create fabric envelopes to keep our dreams safe and using various types of fabric, shimmery and iridescent, we will collage these to our pillows. We can also write super secret dreams on the inside of these pillows that no one will ever see! Additional images, charms, and amulets that speak to us will also be added or sewn. The simple act of writing down these affirmations is the first step towards making them come true!
