"Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye." ~ H. Jackson Brown Jr.

I like the idea of talismans….good luck and good mojo on my side, and typically my talismans have come in the form of pendants. Some that were gifted to me by special people in my life and some that I have made for myself or for others. The symbolism behind both the heart and the eye make these the perfect starting point for our own talisman style pendant. Inspired by the some of the sacred hearts I have seen on my travels to Mexico, we’ll imbue our talismans with words, symbols, and meaningful objects. We are going to combine wood, clay, collage, paint and found objects to create a one-of-a-kind wearable piece of art. No previous jewelry making skills required.

We’ll be making these highly dimensional mixed media pendants as well as an altered box or frame to act as a reliquary for your talisman…the result will be a functional piece of art for both yourself and for your wall when it is being stored.

“Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” ~ Confusious
