Student Level: All levels welcome
Type of Workshop: Process and Project
|
Make a bold statement with this rockin' riveted cuff constructed of copper sheet, bronze rivets and a large stone of your choosing. This cuff was the feature project in the September 2012 issue of "Art Jewelry Magazine", now you can make it with help from the author! You will learn the following skills and techniques while completing this project: how to fabricate a thick-wall cus tom bezel made to fit large stones or cabochons; how to make your own hand-made rivets; the tools and process for hidden, countersunk rivets; riveting on curved metal; sizing and shaping of cuffs; patina, polishing and sealing copper; silver solder techniques for non-ferrous metals.
Soldering experience will be helpful, but not essential as the basics will be discussed and demonstrated.
