Great architecture is built on a solid foundation. Students will learn the basics of working with a jeweler's grade, two-part epoxy resin, including how to embed objects, tint resin and suspend light objects such as glitter and mica. We'll also explore the dimensional qualities of ICE Resin® by learning how to build layers of imagery, text, transparencies and altered charms to create mixed-media collages forever encased in layers of ultra-clear resin. These pendants are truly unique with a three-dimensional quality in their construction. Students will collage and pour three mixed-metal bezels. The second-half of the workshop will focus on creating various metal and wire jewelry components to build an interesting mixed-media necklace to compliment the architectural-themed pendants.

Kit fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
Three mixed-metal pendants and one-ounce plunger per student of ICE Resin®
Chain
Beads
Crystals
Heishi beads
Bronze wire in 16, 18, and 20 gauges as well as
Use of instructor's tools such a flexible shaft, torch and MAPP gas, disc cutter, patina, etc
Retail value of bezels and resin is $42

Supply list:

Optional: Any objects from your stash that you would like to bring to embed into resin, including buttons, beads, flat-backed crystals, images, stamped paper, favorite words or text, etc.
