This is a 2 day workshop.

Experience new ground breaking ideas in the glass world.  Learn techniques for mold making, carving, and different glass variations in kiln casting.  Create, carve and cast objects in glass. Build two distinct molds, the first by casting  a found object, the second is hand carved to create a unique structure to cast glass into. Experiment with layering of color and transparent glass for use with text.  Learn about the properties of glass, proper kiln use, tips on buying a glass kiln, safety tips and the technique of cleaning up your glass work.

Use these pieces to finish a piece of jewelry in combination with sterling silver and solder techniques.

Kit fee of $48 payable to instructor at the beginning of class includes: silver sheet, wire, solder, silver wire, necklace form, variety of glass, sheet metal, sandpaper, rivets, tubing, handout and expendables.
