Romancing the Cuff

This class is all about romance. I absolutely love designing these cuffs, each one unique and one of a kind.

We will sew, layer, sew and layer some more. It is all about vintage lace, ribbon, ruffles, netting, silk, tatting, rhinestone and mother of pearl buttons, fobs, lockets, old diary keys, charms, hearts, tags and more!

What more do you need when you have such a beautiful and romantic adornment on your wrist? I rest my case!

Teacher’s Kit for each student:

  • Class Handout
  • 2 Cuff Patterns

$20 Optional Kit: A goodie bag filled with vintage lace, ribbon, netting, buttons, charms and more! Please email Instructor ahead of time if you will be purchasing one.

Supply List:

  •  Portable Sewing Machine
  • Extension Cord
  • Soft Leather, several different colors (Ex. Velvet and Deertan Cowhide Trim Leather at Michael’s)
  • Thin Ponytail Holders (Ex. Shany Asst. Color Ponytail Holders)
  • Thread (to match your leather)
  • Thread (to match the top layer of your cuff, Ex. beige, linen, white, cream)
  • Sewing Scissors
  • Seam Ripper (if needed)
  • Thimble
  • Chain Nose Pliers
  • Hand Sewing Needles (to sew on buttons and/or charms that will go thru both leather and layers)
  • Layering Goodies of your choice: Vintage Lace, Ribbon, Netting, Scraps, Silk, Tatting, muslin, rubber stamps, StazOn Ink Pad-Your Choice, Ex. Timber Brown, Jet Black, Vintage Mother of Pearl and Rhinestone Buttons, Czech Pressed Glass Beads, Vintage Filigree Pieces, Charms or Fobs, Light Weight Keys, such as old diary keys, Tags, and Dupioni Silk or whatever you want to layer onto your cuff!

You may want to fill your bobbins ahead of time with colors to match the leather you bring to class.
