Memorabilia Necklace

Students will learn how to encase their favorite bits of memorabilia in mica and other forms of containers to create a keepsake like no other. Student's own bits of memorabilia will be used to access the best means of encasing.

Bring memoriabilia like brochures, fliers, announcements, birthday cards, etc. along with little charms and trinkets to incorporated into your own necklace using cold connections of all varieties. You will be shown at least 5 different cold connections to be used and the proper use of the tools required to use the attachments properly.

The instructor will provide all tools and consumables necessary to complete this project. Some tools must be shared; however, students are welcome to bring their own. Tools being used in this class include, hammers, anvils, texture hammers, texture stamps, files, hand held torch, tweezers, wire cutters, sheers, drill press, spring loaded punch, hand held hole punches, jewelers saw, 3/0 saw blades, dapping blocks, disc cutter, round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, flat nose pliers, liver of sulfur, 0000 steel wool, sanding sponges.
