Type of Workshop: Process and Project

Using basic low tech Repousse and chasing techniques, move metal to create three dimensional leaves. Add a couple of wire pods made using basketweave and stuff with your favorite gems & pearls. Cascade the leaves and pods down an artful vine for an unforgettable pendant.

Students not purchasing kit must bring the following items to the workshop:

• 3 x 3 sheet 24 Gauge metal
• 14 Gauge wire, 1 ft per vine Bronze or copper
• 1 ft 24 G lacing wire
• embellishing beads; keishi pearls, button pearls, 2-4 mm crystals...
• 6 14 Gauge 6 M jumprings

For each pod:

• 18 in 18 G wire Sterling deadsoft, copper or bronze. Bronze preferable.
• 6 ft 24 G Sterling deadsoft or copper wire.
• Mixed metals gives a nice effect
• 3-5 large pearls or crystals 8- 16 MM
• 3-5 headpins that fit in the holes of these pearls or crystals 22 G
• small pearls, shells and semiprecious to stuff the pods with.
• if a nice gem has a hole that doesn’t work this is a good place for it.
• This is also a nice place for semiprecious chips.

Instructor provides the following items for student's use in class: an assortment of Fretz texturing hammers, Chasing Tools, 1.25 and 1.80 MM holepunches, 2 Chasing hammers, 2 Sand bags

• 6” Sand bag
• Fretz Precisionsmith large embossing hammers
• Round nose pliers
• Long Round nose pliers
• Chain nose pliers
• Flat nose pliers
• Flush cutters
• Metal Shears
• Tiny dapping punch
• emery board 100/180 grit
• 1.25 mm holepunch
• 1.80 Holepunch
