In this class students will create a tension set pendant with prongs to set virtually any found object or stone.

You will learn how to cut, texture, pierce, drill, patina, saw and rivet two discs together so that they will snuggly hold a stone cabochon or other found object in place. You will learn how to properly use many of the essential jewelry construction tools such as the drill press, jewelers saw, dapping block and texture stamps. You will learn how to make and use sterling silver rivets as a cold connections to pull this whole project together. The techniques learned in this class can easily be carried over to other projects in full or in parts.

Kit fee of $20 payable to Instructor at class time includes all consumables used in this workshop: copper sheet, iron binding wire, sterling silver wire, stone cabochons, 0000 steel wool, sanding sponges, saw blades, liver of sulfur, packing tape.

Instructor will supply all tools used in this workshop although some tools must be shared by the students. If you prefer not to share (possibly wait in line), you are welcome to bring your own. Tools used include stencils, hammers, anvils, texture hammers, texture stamps, shears, jewelers saw, 3/0 saw blades, bees wax, files, drill press, spring loaded punch, wire cutters, chain nose pliers, work surface, hand held torch, tweezers, 1.8mm hand punch.
