Delicious Drop Necklace

A shimmering mixture of seed beads, tiny beads, pearls, & crystals are free form peyote’ stitched over a form to create the focal point of this elegant necklace. Strung with strands of coordinating and accent beads, you’ll turn your drop (or drops) into a one-of-a-kind yummy necklace. Free form Peyote stitch will be taught in class, but previous knowledge of basic Peyote will give you a head start on your project. Instructions for stringing the drop will also be provided, along with various ideas for stringing. Necklaces might or might not be completed in class.
Optional kit fee of $27 payable to Instructor at class time includes:
- One or more forms to bead over.
- Seed beads in sizes 8º, 11º, & 15º..
- Tiny beads to add to your seed bead mix. These might include; triangle beads, tear drops, crystals, pinch beads, pearls, 3mm or 4mm fire polished faceted beads, or any other small shapes, or larger seed beads.
- Beads to add to your seed beads for stringing the necklace. May include 3mm to 8mm; fire polished faceted beads, pearls, crystals, semi-precious stone, & shaped beads.
- Beading thread; Nymo D, or Silamide, or your favorite
- 2 beading needles, size 12
Supplies provided by the teacher include: bee’s wax, & beading pads.
Students not purchasing the optional kit must bring the following items to the workshop:
- One or more forms to bead over. These could be glass, plastic, or wood beads or other shapes (does not have to have a hole).
- Seed beads in sizes 8º, 11º, & 15º. Try to have some different finishes and types (matt, shiny, etc.). I usually limit my color palate to keep from being too chaotic, but throw in a little contrast for pizzazz.
- Tiny beads to add to your seed bead mix. These might include; triangle beads, tear drops, crystals, pinch beads, pearls, 3mm or 4mm fire polished faceted beads, or any other small shapes, or larger seed beads.
- Beads to add to your seed beads for stringing the necklace. Suggestions are 3mm to 8mm; fire polished faceted beads, pearls, crystals, semi-precious stone, & shaped beads.
- Beading thread; Nymo D, or Silamide, or your favorite
- Beading needles, size 12 and/or 13
- Small sharp beading scissors or a thread cutter
Supply List (all students must bring):
- Sharp scissors
- Ott light and long extension cord
